Praline French Toast

Ingredients

  • 1 French bread (of 13 -16 ounces)
  • 8 large eggs
  • 2 cup of 10% cream or half n’ half
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp fresh nutmeg
  • 1 pinch of salt

Syrup

  • 1 cup of pecans
  • 1 cup of well compacted brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup
  • 1/2 lbs butter

Instructions

  • Slice the French bread into 20 slices of about an inch each.
  • Butter the Lasagne UltraPro well and interlace the slices of bread, in 2 upright rows.
  • Put the eggs and cream in the Power Chef, with the beater.
  • Add the milk, the sugar, the vanilla, the cinnamon, the nutmeg and the salt.
  • Pull the cord several times so that everything is well mixed but not too aerated.
  • Pour the mixture over the bread slices making sure it is spread evenly with the eggs and milk. Use the spatula, to ensure all the liquid is well spread between the slices of bread.
  • Cover and place in the refrigerator for 1 hour to overnight.
  • When you are ready to cook, preheat the oven to 350ºF.
  • Chop the pecans in the Power Chef with the blade.
  • Add the brown sugar and the cinnamon and make sure everything is well mixed.
  • Add the syrup and butter and continue to chop.
  • Spread the praline mixture uniformly over the bread and cook in the oven during 40 minutes, just until it is lightly browned. Serve with Maple Syrup.
