Salmon and potato cake


  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • 300 g Yukon Gold, russet or other mealy potatoes
  • 500 g salmon fillets, skin on, scaled and bones removed
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour, plus extra for dusting
  • 1 egg
  • 2 lemon
  • fresh Italian parsley
  • freshly ground black pepper, to taste


  • Fill the water reservoir of the smart steamer.
  • Peel and cut the potatoes into cubes.
  • Put the potatoes in the bottom section of the SmartSteamer.
  • Cook for 10 minutes on high with the cover in place.
  • Put the filets of Salmon in the top section of the SmartSteamer.
  • After the 10 minutes add the top section with the salmon and cook for another 6 minutes
  • When they are both cooked put them in the Quick Chef Pro or the Power chef and chop.
  • Use the zest n’ press to press the lemons.
  • Add the Parsley, the egg, salt, pepper, flour and a little lemon zest.
  • Mix everything together.
  • Take a small portion of the mixture and make a cake, and place it on the silicone mat.
  • Repeat this process until all the cakes are made.
  • Brush each cake with a little oil.
  • Cook it in the oven for 15 minutes at 375 F.
